Introducing – Dr. Russell Zimmer

It is with great excitement that the Live Oak Emerald Regime Marching Band and Color Guard welcome back to the organization, our new band director, Dr. Russell Zimmer.

Dr. Zimmer is a Live Oak Emerald Regime alum, who marched with the band as a talented trumpeter from 1999-2001. After his time at Live Oak, he continued his musical education, earning the following degrees; BA Music San Jose State, MA Music Louisville, DMA – Music University Nebraska-Lincoln. Upon completion of his degrees, Dr. Zimmer has continued private music lessons and also moved to the classroom where he has taught at the Jackson Academy of Math and Music; helping bring the love and joy of music to young hearts and lives.

As he transitions to lead the music department at Live Oak High School and also takes the helm of the Live Oak Emerald Regime Marching Band and Color Guard; we are excited to see the direction he leads us, as Dr. Zimmer embodies the Legacy, Talent and Excellence that is the LIve Oak Emerald Regime.
